About the Principal
Daniel G. Workman
Bridging the gap between federal regulation and private-sector execution.
With over 16 years in security and investigations, including 11 years of federal service, I've spent my career at the intersection of national security and industrial compliance. I don't just interpret the NISPOM. I've lived it from the other side of the desk, as a Special Agent and Industrial Security Representative (ISR) with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.
An insider's perspective on compliance
During my tenure with DCSA, I evaluated security programs ranging from small specialized firms to major defense contractors. I saw firsthand where small and mid-sized contractors struggle most: not in their commitment to security, but in the administrative complexity of maintaining a strong program while staying focused on mission delivery.
Why I founded Cleared Path
Defense contractors need high-level, insider expertise to navigate the NISPOM, but they don't always need the overhead of a full-time, executive-level security department. Being a small player shouldn't mean carrying a high risk of non-compliance. That's why I can support you as a W-2 FSO, a 1099 assistant FSO, or a cleared consultant, whichever fits your structure and contracts.
The Cleared Path philosophy
Security should be an enabler of your mission, not a bottleneck to your operations. My approach pairs an understanding of human behavior, rooted in my background in Sociology and Business Management, with technical mastery of federal security protocols. I don't just help you pass the review. I help build a culture of proactive compliance that protects your facility clearance, your people, and your intellectual property, so you can focus on delivering for the warfighter.
"When you partner with Cleared Path, you're hiring a former regulator as your internal advocate."
